Weather on the Teton Crest Trail
Summer Weather
During the summer, thunderstorms pose the biggest weather risk on the Teton Crest Trail. These storms can produce heavy rain, hail, and lightning. Be sure to check the weather forecast before you start your hike and be prepared to take shelter if a storm approaches.
Winter Weather
The Teton Crest Trail is closed to hiking during the winter due to snow and ice. The snowpack can be deep and the temperatures can be very cold. If you are planning to hike the trail in the winter, be sure to have the proper gear and experience.
