Fix: ACPIMSFT0101 Device

Causes of the Issue

The error is caused when the Intel Platform Trust Technology option is enabled in the BIOS. Windows 7 does not support this setting, so it can be disabled in the BIOS. Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 do support this setting.

Fix for Windows 7

1. Download the Microsoft hotfix for the ACPIMSFT0101 device (link).
2. Run the hotfix to install the device.

Note: If the AMD HDMI audio driver is causing issues, try installing the AMD HDMI audio driver from the Realtek site.

Fix for Windows 8 and Windows 10

1. Go to BIOS and enable the Intel Platform Trust Technology option.
2. Save changes and exit BIOS.

The ACPIMSFT0101 device should now be working correctly.
