Ava Kris Tyson, a co-host of the popular MrBeast YouTube channel, has announced she is permanently stepping away from the show following allegations of misconduct.
The news comes after Tyson, who came out as transgender in early 2023, was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a minor. Tyson has denied the allegations but said she is leaving the channel to focus on her mental health.
"I need to take some time for myself to work on my mental health and well-being," Tyson said in a statement posted to her Instagram account. "I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have worked on MrBeast, and I wish the team all the best in the future."
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has not commented on Tyson's departure. However, in a recent video, he said that he is "committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone on his team."
Tyson's departure is a blow to MrBeast's channel, which has over 100 million subscribers. However, it is also a sign that the YouTube community is taking allegations of misconduct seriously.
