Shelley Alexis Duvall, the actress known for her eccentric roles and collaborations with Robert Altman, has died at age 75. Duvall was born in Houston, Texas in 1949. She began her acting career in the early 1970s, appearing in small roles in films such as "Brewster McCloud" (1970) and "Thieves Like Us" (1974).

Duvall's breakout role came in 1977, when she starred as Wendy Torrance in Stanley Kubrick's horror classic "The Shining." Duvall's performance in the film is widely considered to be one of the greatest in horror映画史上.

Duvall continued to star in a number of acclaimed films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including "Popeye" (1980), "Time Bandits" (1981), and "Roxanne" (1987). She was also a regular member of Robert Altman's repertory company, appearing in such films as "MASH" (1970), "McCabe & Mrs. Miller" (1971), and "The Long Goodbye" (1973).

In recent years, Duvall has lived a quiet life in Texas. She has not acted in a film since 2002.
