Matt Duchene Signs with Dallas Stars
Veteran Forward Returns to Central Division
One-Year, $3 Million Contract
Matt Duchene has signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars worth $3 million, according to a source. The deal, which includes $3 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $3 million, will see the 33-year-old right wing remain in the Central Division after spending the past three seasons with the Nashville Predators.
Duchene, who was born in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada, stands 5'11" and weighs 194 pounds. He was originally drafted third overall by the Colorado Avalanche in 2009 and has since played for the Avalanche, Columbus Blue Jackets, Ottawa Senators, and Predators.
In 866 career NHL games, Duchene has recorded 235 goals and 351 assists for 586 points. He has also represented Canada internationally, winning a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics and a silver medal at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
